Amelia Earhart and Harriet Tubman

One difference I noticed between Amelia Earhart and Harriet Tubman was that Amelia was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic and Harriet was the conductor of the underground railroad. In the biography I read about Amelia Earhart, it said,"Still, her life will never be the same. The first woman to cross the Atlantic made headlines around the world. Reading this quote shows me that Amelia Earhart tried her hardest in order to be successful, to be the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Her fight was a success and for that she was able to be the first of many woman to fly across the Atlantic. In the biography I read about Harriet Tubman, it said, "She is made official "conductor" of the underground railroad and gets to know all the routes." This shows me that after helping so many slaves escape to freedom, Harriet was rewarded by becoming a conductor. She learned routes and she could be trusted, so from than on she was the conductor of the underground railroad.

One similarity I noticed between Amelia Earhart and Harriet Tubman was that both stuck up for what they believe in. In the biography I read about Amelia Earhart, it said, "She showed everyone that woman didn't have to live with limits. She showed people anyone can fly. She changed the world. She was a legend." This shows me that Amelia Earhart stood up for woman's rights because men and women deserve to be treated equally. Amelia Earhart stood up for what she believed in by proving she can do the impossible. Flying. In the biography I read about Harriet Tubman, it said, " In 1850, Harriet helps her first slaves escape slavery to the North." This shows me that Harriet Tubman stood up for ending slavery because everyone deserves to live life the way they want. Harriet stood up for what she believed in by helping slaves escape from slavery, so they can have what everyone else does. Freedom.

Harriet Tubman

The first attribute that makes Harriet Tubman courageous is facing suffering with dignity and faith. In the text it says, "Harriet Tubman was whipped and beat during work as a slave." This quote means that Harriet Tubman got abused by her slave owner. Harriet was abused when she was a slave, she got whipped and beat up for reasons I do not know. Tubman is very brave because she found something to depend on while she was being abused. She had something to hold on that made her not want to do stuff to herself. Freedom is what Harriet had to hold onto and she got it.

Second attribute that makes Harriet Tubman courageous is she stands up for what is right.
For instance, in the the text it says, "In 1850, Harriet Tubman helps her first slaves escape to the North." This quote shows that Harriet Tubman is courageous because she stands up for what is right, which is to end slavery. She helps slaves escape from the abuse and brutal work assigned to them by their owner. She helped them become free which was a big risk because if you helped them you would be against the law. She is brave and courageous.

Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart is courageous because she had the courage to stay on course. ( Never give up)
For example, in the text you can see it says, " with her parents help, Amelia took piloting lessons and saved money to buy an airplane. Before long, the young woman was flying air shows herself. In this quote, we see that Amelia Earhart has courage because she didn't just say "Mom can you buy me an airplane, so I can fly." No, Amelia Earhart did have some help from her parents, but she saved her own money and bought her own plane. Also she went out and got to take some piloting lessons, so she knows what she is doing. Amelia Earhart was courageous because she never gave up on her dream to fly.
Also Amelia Earhart is courageous because she had the courage to take a hit.
For instance, the text says," Only one pilot, a man, had ever flown around the world, several years before. But he had not followed the equator, the longest and most difficult route. This was the route Amelia would fly." This quote shows that Amelia Earhart is willing to sacrifice everything in order to show people that women can do what men can do, so she can be the first woman to fly around the world. Amelia is courageous because she is brave enough to fly around the world taking the longest and most difficult route. The equator. Amelia Earhart is courageous because she does the unthinkable.

" Never interrupt someone doing what you said couldn't be done." - Amelia Earhart

" The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward." - Amelia Earhart

" Woman who can create her own job is the woman who will win fame and fortune." - Amelia Earhart.
