The story "God Sees the Truth but Waits" by Leo Tolstoy shows Ivan Askenof's trouble by his wife's foreshadowed dream of him. A quote in the story that I think best foreshadows Ivan's eventual trouble is, "As he was saying good-bye to his family, his wife said to him, 'Ivan, do not go today. I had a bad dream about you. Please stay home.'" This quote shows me that Askenof's wife doesn't want him to go to the fair because she has a bad feeling and dream about him. This shows me that the wife may be right by her dream and she gives us an idea that probably something is going to happen to her husband.

  1. Amelia,
Wow, your blog was very good! you had a great topic sentence including the title, author's name, and main idea. You then went on to explain the foreshadow, and provided a great quote to support it. A suggestion that I have for you is to try to be less redundant. I understand that you were trying to make the point that your quote foreshadows that something bad will happen to Ivan. Your last two sentences specifically are a little redundant, but you still want to include them! Maybe think about writing them a different way so they sound less alike. Otherwise, this is a great blog! Everything you say makes sense and is relevant!
